Cricut

Cricut wanted to make their blog more useful for crafters of all skill levels. We saw an opportunity for much more, re-envisioning the site as a central hub for the brand, uniting the community, feeding their social channels, and serving as a reliable sales engine.

Taking a page from the best magazines, we developed a full editorial and content strategy that raised the bar for a crafting blog. Visuals became a key emphasis, and a recipe-style format for the How-tos set users up for a simple step-by-step experience, complete with a skill level rating.

And because DIYers can be just as interested in finding projects for a strip of vinyl as they are for a sweet sixteen, we developed a UX Strategy and Information Hierarchy that made navigating based on the user’s interest seamless.

The revamped experience set their internal marketing team up for sustained success, with over 200k monthly visitors finding their inspiration on the site today.

  • Establish Cricut Inspiration as a premium resource for today’s savvy and diverse DIY community.

  • Building on a complete audit of existing content, developed a content strategy that helped internal teams understand what content was successful and why, and way to replicate that success.

  • With an eye toward turning Cricut’s blog into a premium editorial space, developed style guidelines and requirements that ensured a seamless user experience worth coming back to.

  • Developed flows designed to help users find content whether they wanted to make something for a birthday, or just make something out of leather.
